Crisis response training expands in eastern Nova Scotia

The province announced that its Crisis Intervention Team program will expand to Antigonish and Guysborough counties and Cape Breton Island. First responders receive training and can call healthcare staff for guidance during an incident. The province committed CAD 700,000 for the expansion in 2026–2027.

Emergency groups receive equipment grants

Nova Scotia announced more than CAD 2.75 million for emergency response equipment at 100 organizations. Grants of up to CAD 30,000 support equipment purchases. The announcement describes awarded funding; it does not list every organization as a public service location.

Seasonal vaccine bookings open

Nova Scotia announced that bookings had opened for seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccines. Residents can use the provincial booking service, YourHealthNS, 811 or their care provider. The announcement also sets out separate RSV programs; check the current health service page for eligibility and appointments.
